Free open day after Heacham office expansion

Solicitors Ward Gethin Archer are holding a free open day to celebrate the recent expansion and refurbishment of their Heacham office on Wednesday, September 19.

The expansion of Ward Gethin Archer’s Heacham branch, located at 8 High Street, has generated new jobs in the village as well as relocating other existing members of staff, who live locally, from other offices within the company.

It means that there are now more of Ward Gethin Archer’s solicitors and lawyers on-hand giving clients old and new improved access to expert legal help and advice in Heacham on issues such as moving home, writing a will or lasting power of attorney, personal injury claims, settling a dispute, resolving family matters or employment issues as well as commercial services for businesses.

James Macwhirter, Wills and Probate solicitor who is one of the team now located in Heacham said: “I am really glad to be part of our expanding team here at Heacham and helping local residents even more with their legal challenges that life brings, without having to go into King’s Lynn or beyond. From the exciting times of buying your first home to more sombre times of dealing with a loved one’s estate after they have passed away and everything in between, all from our refurbished Heacham office.”

To celebrate the expansion and refurbishment, Ward Gethin Archer is holding a free open day on Wednesday, September 19, to give Heacham residents and businesses the opportunity to pop in and have an informal chat with one of their solicitors and lawyers over a coffee and cake.

Julie Dear, Residential Conveyancing Legal Executive and Heacham Parish Councillor, commented: “As a member of the parish council, it’s fantastic that the Heacham community now has improved access to the legal help and support they need when they need it right on their doorstep. It is something we are really excited about and privileged to be able to provide.“

Ward Gethin Archer is a long established firm of solicitors and notaries in Norfolk and Cambridgeshire, currently employing 155 members of staff including lawyers, secretarial and administrative staff. In total, clients have access to more than 400 years of combined qualified lawyer experience.

Ward Gethin Archer’s Heacham office is one of nine branches across Norfolk and Cambridgeshire and was first opened at the beginning of 2014 after the successful acquisition of Berry and Walton Solicitors.

You can trace the company’s history back to 1785 when Ely based Archer and Archer were formed. Ward Gethin solicitors were founded more recently in May 1976 in King’s Lynn’s Tuesday Market Place, where the company’s head office is still located today. The two companies then merged in May 2012 to form Ward Gethin Archer Ltd.

As well as Ely and King’s Lynn, Ward Gethin Archer’s other offices can be found in Chatteris, Dereham, Downham Market, King’s Lynn (Regis Place, Bergen Way), Swaffham and Watton, making them one of the region’s largest law firms

Along with the expansion and refurbishment of their Heacham office, it has been a fantastic year so far for all the staff as they have been named finalists in the Fenland Enterprise Business Awards in the Customer Service category with the winners to be announced in October. Earlier in the year, Ward Gethin Archer was also named finalists for the same category in the King’s Lynn Mayor’s Business Awards.

Anyone with a legal question or needing help either before or after the open day can call Ward Gethin Archer on 01485 571366 or visit their refurbished Heacham office at 8 High Street.
